classic car illinois
Title I of the car and he signed, how can I change?

I have a car in Illinois, in a shop in an old car classic. Now, in Ind., this title is not street legal again. Long story short, I have a good deal on the car and want to trade, but I signed the bottom of the title. I can not erase the pencil? The person i bought do not know if this person is yet. If the title here in Ind. take weeks for the title again what can I do?

Nothing, if your state offers you the opportunity to appear in person for a new title issued (although many do not like the investigation to ensure that titles are not forged or altered is an inherent part of ownership of process in many states.) You can, however, a draft contract of sale that indicates, by VIN, the vehicle, including a copy of the current title, and defining its obligation to transfer the property once the new title is received. However, whether or not it is probably acceptable to a buyer is one thing, and it is also quite possible not to abandon their responsibility for what the buyer can do with the vehicle until the title is officially transferred. Good luck. Hope this helps.
